Paintings made in the little spaces of time I find for myself - moments of stillness, escape, and connection
From raw materials to a beautiful painting
I begin by priming the canvas with a thin coat of linseed oil mixed with solvent to prepare a uniform, receptive ground for painting.
The entire composition is mapped out monochrome or in muted tones to establish values, composition, and light values before introducing color.
Applying rich paint layers using the fat-over-lean principle, building up depth, color intensity, and texture gradually across the piece.
Refining fine details, adding high-contrast highlights, and sharpening focal points to bring clarity and vibrancy to the artwork.
Once fully dry, a protective top layer is applied to seal the surface against dust and UV rays while enhancing overall color depth.
A layered painting about the things that make us happy and the ideas that hold us up.

A clean, peaceful space with no distractions where I spend my time painting and doing my best creative work.
